The average age of a smartphone being traded increased to 2.77 years in 2018 from 2.38 years in 2016. Since phone prices became daunting, people started keeping smartphones for longer periods If you’ve held onto a phone for a couple of years, it may not hold a charge the way it used to. These days one can’t expect a smartphone to last for more than two to three years. Apple will ensure Android phone makers don’t ‘use’ Slofies

Image
0 At its September event this year,  Apple  introduced to the world ‘Slofies’. In its  iPhone 11  launch event, Apple showcased slow motion selfie videos using its 12MP selfie camera at 120 frames per second. Now, the Cupertino-based tech giant has filed a patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to trademark the term ' Slofies '. As per the patent application, Apple wants the trademark to include the use of the word in "...standard characters without claim to any particular font style, size, or color." This patent application — that cost Apple $400 — is aimed at preventing other smartphone makers and even app makers to use the word. In its patent application Apple describes 'slofies' as “downloadable computer software for use in capturing and recording video." This is also because this feature is also exclusive to the new iPhone lineup only that includes iPhone 11,  iPhone 11 Pro  and  iPhone 11 Pro
